BVID plands to brgin the irrigation season on April 17, 2024 and April 22, 2024 for customers in the Sicard Flat project area.  Depending on where you live, it may take up to a week for the water to reach your property.

We ask that everyone continue their best efforts and remain mindful toward efficient use.  Please do not allow your ponds to spill or allow water to leave your property.

Collins Lake continues to be at 100% capacity, and we are in great shape for a full season

2023 Irrigation Season Update
As of October 27, 2023 BVID has decided to end the 2023 Irrigation Season on Monday, November 6, 2023 (or possibly sooner if rain falls before then). This will hopefully give everyone enough time to fill their tanks and ponds over the next two weekends. Please take the next week or so to fill your tanks, and in the meantime, let’s hope for more rain to fill the reservoir!

Sicard Flat Ditch End of Season
BVID is planning to shut the Sicard Ditch off for the season on 10/23/2023 to facilitate the installation of roughly 7000 feet of pipe before winter.  Please start making the necessary preparations by filling ponds, tanks, etc.

The Sicard Flat Ditch service area includes those on or near: Too Handy Lane, Valhalla Way, Highway 20 between Hammond Grove and Sicard Flat Road, Sandstone Lane, Eschman Lane, Fred Circle, Long Bar Lane, Byron Way, Stacey Anne Drive, Sicard Flat Road, Potts Trail, Frontier Trail, and Scott Forbes Road.

As part of the Sicard Pipeline project, crews will be connecting another 2000' of pipe to the system. Water is anticipated to be off early in the morning for about 4hrs. Customers will most likely feel the effects of the outage late in the afternoon and full service will be restored late Friday night.

This coming Thursday May 11th. BVID is conducting its annual inspection of Virginia Ranch Dam at Collins Lake. DSOD (Division of Safety of Dams) is requiring a functionality test of the main outlet valve that controls water into the district. Water flow will be interrupted for about 1 hour.

Irrigation Start Update
BVID started water into the system on Monday the 24th, we are all excited to get water but, please remember it takes several days to get the system balanced out properly to get water distributed around the district.
We have also had several mailnine breaks that have appeared during startup. the folowing areas are affected.
Loma Rica west of the Lions Club, and past Foothill School
Bevan Rd. and Praire Creek Ln.
The upper parts of Redhill Rd. (above the block building)
Bonaza and Marcia pumps should be on no later than Thursday.

Season Update
Several customers have inquired about the start of the irrigation season.  
Generally BVID starts the irrigation season mid April, but it is always weather driven.  Meteorologists are still forecasting wet weather in the coming weeks  which will push our start date further out.  when the weather patterns change to a dry forecast, BVID will post the start date when set.
